THE Mavericks are a six-piece American band formed in Miami, Florida, in 1989. The band's music is a blend of country, rock, Latin, and soul, and they have been praised for their unique sound and their ability to appeal to a wide range of audiences. THE Mavericks have released ten studio albums, three live albums, and four compilation albums, and have sold over 4 million records worldwide. The band has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards and three Country Music Association Awards.
Raul Malo is the lead singer and primary songwriter for THE Mavericks. Malo was born in New Mexico and raised in Texas, and his music is heavily influenced by the music of both states.
